Ever since the Beatles broke up, Paul McCartney has been on many massive worldwide tours. He has held multiple interviews with virtually every news source worth its salt (and some that weren't) and even become a spokesman for causes he believes strongly in the message. If one thing is certain, Sir Paul McCartney is very much so alive. Just don't tell to the conspiracy theorists.

The Boston Herald recently sat down to talk to Joel Gilbert, who is set to release a new DVD titled Paul McCartney Really Is Dead: The Last Testament of George Harrison. As the legend goes, the REAL Paul McCartney was decapitated during a car crash in 1966. What has happened since then is an elaborate cover-up by both the rest of the Beatles and the British government. How does Gilbert know? He claims he was sent two audiotapes in 2005 reportedly of the late Beatle George Harrison explaining the whole thing.

So who is the person everyone accepts as Paul McCartney? According to Gilbert, his name is William Campbell, who had surgery to look exactly like Paul. The most logical question is why the British government would care about his death, and Gilbert purports it was from a fear of a mass suicide by teenage girls following his death. Oh, and as a side note, the DVD also explains that Lennon's death was because he was going to expose the secret.

Of course, anyone who has gotten Paul McCartney tickets to see him live would realize this theory doesn't hold water. McCartney hasn't left his post as the king of music since the Beatles rose to fame, and a body double could hardly have captured the ream McCartney's charisma. McCartney has many dates lined up throughout the summer in the United States and Canada, and fans can reserve spots online.

Recently, McCartney was on hand to help celebrate a landmark birthday for the other remaining Beatle, Ringo Starr. Starr turned 70 on July 7 and held a show at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City to celebrate. Starr played a show for fans at the venue, and Paul McCartney came on stage to perform with him. Also making an appearance at the show were Yoko Ono, Angus Young, Max Weinberg and many others.

Decades after he first appeared with the Beatles, Sir Paul McCartney is still a favorite live performer. Proof comes from two lists recently released by Pollstar: the "Top 100 North American Tours" and the "Top 50 Worldwide Tours." The lists take into account shows held from Jan. 1, 2010 to June 30, 2010. He was fourth on the North American list with a total gross of $31.6 million. That includes seven shows in five cities, where he sold 243,921 tickets. He was beaten only by Bon Jovi, James Taylor/Carole King and Taylor Swift, all of whom had many more shows than McCartney in that time. He reached number 12 on the worldwide tours list with a total gross of $34.9 million.
